Trincomalee, particularly the Kanthale area, is a stronghold for kabaddi. Kanthale schools such as Kanthale Madya Maha Vidyalaya, Agbopura Vidyalaya and Raja Ela Vidyalaya have produced national‑level talent, including the current national women’s team coach and former national captain. However, there is no indoor arena. We are developing the Kanthale Leelarathna Grounds with provincial funds this year, including a swimming pool. Can the Ministry allocate funds to construct an indoor stadium building there?
