asked the Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources:
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that the Sri Lankan fishing community has been adversely affected by the “X-Press Pearl” disaster;
(ii) whether compensation has been paid to affected fishermen in that regard;
(iii) if so, the amount of compensation paid so far; and
(iv) the plan currently in place to provide compensation to the fishermen in the Puttalam District?
(b) If not, why?
