Hon. (Dr.) Madhura Senevirathna addressed a matter under the Department of Digital Economy (DOD), informing the House that the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission and the Ministry of Digital Economy, with Chinese assistance, are implementing a programme to supply digital equipment to all provincial and national schools. The speaker indicated that transitioning to digital systems will occur gradually and without financial burden to schools or parents, and clarified that digital devices are not an immediate requirement at this stage.
There is also a DOD matter. At present, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission and the Ministry of Digital Economy, together with Chinese assistance, are implementing a programme to provide digital equipment to all provincial and national schools. Going forward, as needed, we can move to digital systems without burdening the schools or parents. At this moment, digital devices are not necessary, Hon. Member. We are preparing to provide a digital operations system to all schools in the future.
