asked the Minister of Defence: (a) Will he inform this House the – (i) year in which the Government commenced providing security services for foreign maritime security companies; and (ii) name of the institution that has been assigned the responsibility for providing such security services? (b) If the responsibility for providing such security services has been shifted, will he also inform this House – (i) the year in which it was shifted; (ii) the name and the nature of the new company to which the said responsibility was assigned; (iii) the income earned by the said company in each year up to 2025, separately; and (iv) if the said company is a joint venture, the percentage of the profit that goes to each party? (c) Will he further inform this House, regarding the said company, the – (i) total amount of money received by the Sri Lanka Navy from the inception of the company to date; (ii) methodology adopted in determining the charges for the services rendered; (iii) the number of firearms that have been provided by the Tri-forces by type, separately; and (iv) amount paid for the firearms? (d) If not, why?
