Hon. (Mrs.) Oshani Umanga directed a written question to the Minister of Labour seeking detailed information on the operational performance of the Department of Labour's Complaints Division. She requested disclosure of the average complaint resolution time, the current number of pending unresolved complaints, and whether measures are being taken to expedite and improve the resolution process. The question also invited the Minister to outline any specific steps being implemented, or alternatively, to provide reasons if no such steps are underway.
Question to the Minister of Labour:
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the average time taken by the Complaints Division of the Department of Labour to resolve a complaint;
(ii) the number of unresolved complaints currently pending in the aforesaid division;
(iii) whether steps are being taken to resolve these complaints, expeditiously and effectively; and
(iv) if so, the said steps?
(b) If not, why?
