Hon. Lasith Bhashana Gamage raised concerns regarding alleged financial misappropriation exceeding Rs. 1,000 million involving the Gampaha Sanasa enterprise and an associated private entity, GDC. He noted that over 200 complaints have been filed, including with the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID), and that multiple agencies — including the UDA and the Department of Cooperative Development — have jurisdictional involvement in the matter. Hon. Speaker, as the Hon. Minister stated, there are over 200 complaints regarding the Gampaha Sanasa enterprise, and numerous complaints too regarding GDC, a private entity not directly part of Sanasa. The alleged financial misappropriation exceeds Rs. 1,000 million. Given that multiple agencies (UDA, the Department of Cooperative Development, etc.) intersect with this matter, a thorough probe is essential. Complaints have been lodged, especially with the FCID. What steps will the Ministry take to expedite these investigations?
