asked the Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs (Q. No. 1174/2025) —
(a) Will he inform this House:
(i) the number of police stations in Sri Lanka;
(ii) the total number of officers currently serving in the Sri Lanka Police;
(iii) the number of vacancies currently existing in each rank, separately;
(iv) whether steps will be taken to fill those vacancies; and
(v) if so, the date on which those vacancies will be filled, separately for each rank?
(b) Will he also inform this House:
(i) the number of organized criminals arrested in each year during the period from the year 2024 to May, 2025, separately;
(ii) whether the irregularities occurring in the Sri Lanka Police at the moment have been identified; and
(iii) if so, the steps that have been taken to curb those irregularities?
(c) If not, why?
