asked the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation (Q. No. 1302/2025) —
(a) Is he aware that:
(i) damage caused in 2022 by floods to the Deegavapi–Alankulam agricultural road and the Wellakkal Thottam low-water crossing, located in the Akkaraipattu Divisional Irrigation Engineer’s administrative division, was reported to the Director General of Irrigation by farmers in the affected areas;
(ii) by letter No. DI/AM/WG/AP/002/2022 dated 28.11.2022, the Director General of Irrigation informed the Director of Irrigation, Ampara District, to provide the assessment report for renovation of the above road and low-water crossing; and
(iii) it was recommended to include the renovation of that road and low-water crossing in the Irrigation Department’s Development Plan for 2023?
(b) Will he inform this House:
(i) whether the Irrigation Department has received the assessment report for the renovation of the Deegavapi–Alankulam agricultural road and the Wellakkal Thottam low-water crossing;
(ii) the date on which that assessment report was received by the Director General of Irrigation; and
(iii) the steps taken to renovate the road and the low-water crossing?
(c) If not, why?
