Hon. Mahinda Jayasinghe dismissed Opposition claims as falsehoods, asserting that despite the President having addressed the matters in question, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and his allies continue to repeat what the speaker characterised as misinformation. He declared that such claims have limited public traction, lasting only a few days, and reaffirmed the government's commitment to pursuing its national reconstruction programme.

Hon. Presiding Member, please grant me one more minute. Even after the President himself explained matters, Sajith and this Opposition keep repeating the same lie over and over — a falsehood that is rejected no matter how often it is amplified. We therefore say: there is no room to mislead the people further. Their lies have a shelf life of two or three days and then fade. We wish the Opposition well — to continue just like that. We, for our part, will steadily take forward our programme to rebuild this country. Thank you.
